Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District is looking for a High School Assistant Principal for Athletics.



DEFINITION: The Assistant Principal for Athletics reports directly to the High School Principal. The person in this position is expected to provide leadership to the athletics department, support of its coaches, and the student participants. This AP will work closely with the administrative leadership team, department chairs, and activities director.



MAJOR POLICY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Principal for Athletics is responsible for ensuring that all athletics and extracurricular programs are administered in concert with the policies established by the Board of Education, the IHSA, and the State and Federal Governments.



MAJOR ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervision and Evaluations
• School Improvement Planning and Equity Programming
• Hiring, Supervising, and Evaluating Coaches in the Program
• Scheduling Practices, Transportation, Contests, Etc. for Athletic Team
• Supervision of Contests, Events
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal
  
  
  JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold an Illinois Administrative Endorsement

  • Have knowledge of the Illinois Learning Standards

  • Be a leader of coaches and other staff connected with the athletic department

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate commitment to student achievement and school improvement

  • Celebrate diversity within the school community

  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to personal professional development

  • Connect with all facets of the school experience through various supervision assignments

Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 is located approximately 25 miles west of Chicago in suburban Wheaton, Illinois.
