Overview: Every consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services offers to clients. As a Behavioral Scientist - High Net Worth, you will join the Business Transformation practice. The Business Transformation practice is dedicated to diagnosing and addressing core business challenges including regulatory compliance, full-scale implementation, managing change and driving continuous improvement across transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted, senior partner to High Net Worth leadership
  • Offer consultation to advisors serving HNW households
  • Identify opportunities for training, upskilling, and scaling
  • Family Governance and Communication:
    • Facilitate the development of family governance structures and communicate strategies to manage wealth collectively
    • Create family mission statements, wealth education for younger generations, and conflict resolution mechanisms
  • Personal Financial Crisis Intervention and Navigating Loss:
    • Offer immediate, compassionate support and practical solutions during financial crises, such as sudden job loss, divorce, or loss of a loved one
  • Emotional Coaching for Business Exit Strategies:
    • Provide emotional and strategic support for entrepreneurs considering the sale of their family business
    • Address emotional attachments, fears, and expectations surrounding the sale process and future financial planning
  • Personal Identity and Wealth Integration Counseling:
    • Help new HNW households integrate wealth into their lives in a healthy, balanced way, this may involve adjusting to sudden wealth or blending wealth with personal identity
  • Financial Anxiety and Stress Management:
    • Offer strategies and support for managing the unique stresses and anxieties that can accompany managing significant wealth, fear of loss, and the burden of responsibility
Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant social science field (e.g., psychology, organizational behavior, behavioral finance, economics) or equivalent work experience (Financial Therapist Certificate and strong experience will be considered)
  • Doctorate preferred
  • Expertise and advanced degree in behavioral science, psychology, behavioral economics, or related field
  • Expertise in financial therapy or coaching
  • Experience working with HNW households and/or advisors serving HNW households
  • Skill in delivering direct support as well as enablement and training to advisors and teams supporting clients
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to translate complex research into compelling narratives

The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $185,000 or the hourly equivalent.
