Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient (Remote)
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Contract Duration: 13+ Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 35 hrs/week
Pay Rate: $38/hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Coder specializing in inpatient coding for an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient with EPIC, 3M, and related coding applications, with a strong understanding of federal billing regulations, medical terminology, and documentation requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform accurate inpatient medical coding within an acute care environment.
Review and interpret clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes.
Apply current coding guidelines, payer regulations, and federal billing standards.
Utilize EPIC, 3M, and encoder software to complete coding tasks efficiently.
Research and resolve coding issues; provide support or training when needed.
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned coding cases.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to address coding queries.
Meet department productivity and quality benchmarks.
Certification Required: CCS (mandatory).
Additional acceptable certifications: AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP.
Proficient with EPIC and 3M coding systems.
Experience with inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding.
Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and encoder tools.
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology.
Ability to research complex coding topics and assist with coder development.
