Description Of Job

This position independently performs a range of tasks related to maintaining building interiors and furnishings in Capitol Complex managed facilities. Assignments may include keeping exterior walkways clear of debris and snow. This position works 4-12:30am shift. This is a temporary position with an anticipating end date of June 2026.

A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Custodian/Housekeeping Services – Office and common area cleaning including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, multi-surface cleaning, brass cleaning and polishing, hard-surface floor cleaning and recycling. Restrooms cleaning including trash removal, fixtures, stocking supplies, sweeping and mopping.
• Emergency response and other duties as assigned - Position may be called upon for additional duties that may include snow removal, emergency response and assistance (such as a flooded floor), inventory counts, meetings, and assisting their trades with various projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Only:

None

The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:

• Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
• Six (6) months of experience in a commercial custodian position, or similar work.

Conditions Of Employment

• A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
• Physical demands: able to exert force to move up to 100 pounds occasionally, stooping, kneeling and crouching
