GE Aerospace is seeking a skilled COMSEC Operations Leader with additional expertise in physical security technologies. This position will serve as an advisor and authoritative voice within the Enterprise Physical Security (EPS) Global Security Team. This position is based in Washington DC with occasional travel to Cincinnati Ohio. You must have advanced expertise in COMSEC discipline and the ability to work directly with the NSA prepare for inspections and ensure a compliant program with an approach that fits the regulator expectations.
In addition to traditional COMSEC responsibilities this position will also support the Enterprise Physical Security Senior Technology Manager with security technology initiatives including integration of Avigilon video security Lenel OnGuard security management RightCrowd visitor management and other related systems.

Role Overview

This position will serve as an advisor and authoritative voice within the Enterprise Physical Security (EPS) Global Security Team. This position is based in Washington DC with occasional travel to Cincinnati Ohio. You must have advanced expertise in COMSEC discipline and the ability to work directly with the NSA prepare for inspections and ensure a compliant program with an approach that fits the regulator addition to traditional COMSEC responsibilities this position will also support the Enterprise Physical Security Senior Technology Manager with security technology initiatives including integration of Avigilon video security Lenel OnGuard security management RightCrowd visitor management and other related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary or alternate COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures for the Washington DC site.
  • Serve as the primary focal between GE Aerospaces Digital Technology Team and GE Aerospaces Global Security - Enterprise Physical Security Team.
  • Manage access and coordination with government sponsor(s) for a Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) - Secure Conference Room (SCR).
  • Ensure compliance with the Joint Special Access Implementation Guide (JSIG) and the DoD implementation guide for the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Provide guidance and training to ensure user awareness concerning unauthorized or illegal use of computer hardware and software.
  • Execute daily physical security technology and cybersecurity activities including planning coordination audits scans and other compliance measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards of security and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented cybersecurity professional with strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities. They thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience managing secure facilities and coordinating with government sponsors.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in information technology cybersecurity or a related field (or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years experience) 3 years related experience
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks standards and best practices including Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience managing secure facilities such as SAPFs and/or SCIFs and coordinating with government sponsors.
  • Familiarity with DoD and/or Intelligence Community COMSEC policies and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP CISM Security COMSEC certifications) are highly desirable.

Interpersonal Skills & Customer Service: Strong interpersonal abilities effective networking and collaboration capabilities and cultural competence. High emotional intelligence and self-awareness are essential for fostering a respectful approach to security operations.

Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security policies procedures and incident reports to stakeholders at all levels. Active listening & relationship building.

Project Management : The ability to plan execute and oversee security projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years).
  • To comply with U.S. immigration and other legal requirements the minimum number of years of experience required for this role is specified.
  • The base pay range for this position is $93300.00-124400.00 USD Annual
