Collins Companies, Pallette Stone Corp./Jointa Galusha, LLC. is seeking reliable individuals for full time positions as Quarry Laborer

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of the aggregate plant on a daily basis. This person must be able to efficiently diagnose, adjust, and repair plant equipment including stone crushers, screens, conveyors, etc. The individual will need to have good communication with peers, fore-persons, and supervisors. The individual will also perform repair and maintenance duties that include cutting, welding and metal fabrication.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Follow safety regulations
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
• Operate and inspect machines
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
• Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs
• Knowledge of all applicable regulations affecting aggregate plant production, safety, environmental, state, federal and company policies; ensure observance of such regulations, and ensure compliance with all regulations and permit conditions
• Ability to detect hazards and malfunctions and respond accordingly
• Ability to follow directions
• Must be able to accurately complete daily paperwork which includes plant production reports
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers and supervisors
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Must be on time and ready to work at designated start time
• Strict adherence to Pallette Stone Corp. policies, procedures and safety requirements as outlines in the Employee Handbook
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-works or supervisors with other duties as required

Personal Protective Equipment:

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Fall Protection, Gloves, Welding Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tag Out, Respiratory Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes (hard toe), Welding Aprons, Welding Helmet, Welding Shield.

Qualifications:

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-6 months related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents (ex. safety rules, procedure manuals, etc.)
• Ability to effectively present information in one - on -one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Pallette Stone Corp./Jointa Galusha, LLC is a drug free workplace.

Hourly range:

Quarry Laborer

$28.00 - $33.00/hour

Varies, contract rates based on classification and current Collective Bargaining Agreement

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
