General Summary:

At Jolene’s, the host is the first and last point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an extraordinary dining experience steeped in French elegance and playfulness. As the face of Jolene’s, you’ll create warm welcomes, manage reservations with finesse, and ensure the seamless flow of the dining room. Your charm, professionalism, and attention to detail will make every guest feel welcome.

Specific Responsibilities

Creating a Memorable First Impression:

• Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm.
• Offer genuine hospitality, making guests feel welcomed and appreciated from the moment they step through the door.
• Manage guest coat check, if applicable, ensuring items are safely stored and retrieved promptly.

Managing Reservations and Walk-Ins:

• Use Resy to manage reservations, checking for special requests such as anniversaries, birthdays, or dietary restrictions.
• Seamlessly accommodate walk-ins when possible, balancing the needs of the dining room and guests.
• Communicate wait times honestly and effectively, offering options like a cocktail at the bar to enhance the experience.

Seating Guests with Precision:

• Escort guests to their table with poise, introducing their server and highlighting any special accommodations made for them.
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date floor plan, ensuring optimal table turns while preserving the relaxed pace of fine dining.
• Distribute menus to guests with a brief explanation of the offerings, emphasizing the French inspiration behind the cuisine and beverages.

Enhancing the Guest Experience Throughout:

• Serve as a touchpoint for guest needs throughout their visit, including helping coordinate special surprises or requests.
• Handle any guest concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating issues to management as needed.

Sending Guests Off with a Fond Farewell:

• Thank guests sincerely for dining at Jolene’s, inviting them to return and recommending future experiences (e.g., seasonal menu changes or special events).
• Ensure coats and belongings are returned promptly and with care.
