Job Description

A critical access hospital in New Hampshire is seeking an experienced and adaptable Perioperative Registered Nurse to support both the Operating Room and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys variety, teamwork, and providing exceptional care across the surgical continuum.

As a key member of the perioperative team, you will ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment
• Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, and maintain aseptic technique
• Perform preoperative patient assessments and provide intraoperative patient advocacy
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists
• Deliver high-quality nursing care in the PACU, including post-anesthesia monitoring and recovery
• Assess airway, vital signs, pain levels, and surgical sites during recovery
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge instructions
• Accurately document all perioperative and PACU care in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• An ADN is required, BSN preferred
• Active RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in PACU, OR, ICU, or ED required
