Position Overview 

This position is responsible for the operation of a drill rig for the purpose of drilling holes at quarries in preparation for blasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
• Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc).
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Perform pre-shift inspections on all equipment.
• Train to operate drill in a safe manner in quarry operation.
• Assist in mobilizing and moving drill to different quarry locations.
• Proper use of handles to ingress and egress.
• Inspect drilling area prior to starting for safety conditions.
• Understand and adhere to all Government Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Reliable source of transportation.
• 1-2 years of experience operating a drill.
• Willing to acquire Class B CDL.
• Travel is required (not overnight). 
• Able to participate and engage in the safety process
• Able to work independently with attention to detail.
• Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment.
• Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines.
• Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.

Education/Experience 

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent 
• Previous construction equipment operation experience helpful but not required.
