The core of this position is education: public speaking, developing curriculum, and conducting hands-on trainings.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
OSEEF is participating in several grants and contracts to expand the solar workforce, with a focus on communities that have previously been left out. This position is responsible for:
● Teaching: Giving in-person presentations to pre-apprenticeship programs, high school and
other audiences regarding solar installation jobs. Instructing students during hands-on trainings regarding the basics of solar

● Volunteer Coordination: Coordinating volunteer speakers to present at partner organizations. Coordinating trainings for volunteers. Expanding the pool of volunteers and supporting existing volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
OSEEF seeks applicants with solar installation experience, experience training or instructing new employees or students, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. A successful candidate will have a passion for equity and experience working
with communities of color and/or other historically disadvantaged communities.

Required Qualifications
● Experience in solar installation (minimum 2 years preferred)
● Experience in training new employees or teaching students
● Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects independently
● Commitment to equity

Preferred Skills
● Curriculum development or instructional design experience
● Project management and budget tracking skills
● Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
● Experience working with communities of color or other historically marginalized groups
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and database tools
● Ability to travel across Oregon and maintain a regular presence in the Portland Metro area

COMPENSATION
● Salary range is $65,000-$75,000/year for the full-time position
● Health care and vision benefits
● Retirement benefits
● Three weeks of vacation in the first year, increasing to four weeks of vacation in the fifth year
● 11 holidays, plus 5 holiday adders, which make a holiday weekend a four-day weekend
● Flexible work schedule
● All work-related travel expenses are reimbursed

To Apply: Please submit a cover letter, resumé, and references by email to executive@orssia.org with “Training Coordinator Application” included in the subject line. Email questions to executive @orssia.org; direct applicants only, no search or placement firms. The position is
full-time, 40 hours per week.

OSEEF is committed to building a diverse team. We strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others underrepresented in the solar industry.

Application review will begin on November 24th, 2025.

THE ORGANIZATION(S)
Founded in 1981, the Oregon Solar + Storage Industries Association (OSSIA) is the state’s solar industry trade association. OSSIA’s mission is to make solar energy a significant energy source in Oregon and expand the market by strengthening the industry and developing a skilled and
stable workforce. Leading over 100 solar businesses throughout Oregon and more than 4,000 individuals working within the industry, OSSIA advances policy, removes market barriers, highlights emerging trends, and promotes outreach and education.

The Oregon Solar Energy Education Fund (OSEEF) is the 501c3 sibling organization of OSSIA, founded in 2019. OSEEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting solar education and regulatory reform in Oregon. By partnering with solar companies, workforce development organizations, current and future solar workers, solar regulators, and forward-looking policymakers we’re breaking down barriers to expanding solar energy as a vital part of a clean and renewable energy mix.

OSEEF/OSSIA are small but mighty organizations. Staff and volunteer Boards of Directors support each other and work collaboratively to advance our goals. We celebrate our successes and navigate our challenges together.
OSEEF & OSSIA are serious about equity! OSEEF & OSSIA are committed to making equity a reality in the solar industry. We are at the beginning of our equity journey but have made important strides in the last several years. The only way to achieve our vision to provide universal access to solar energy is by being equitable and inclusive of all races, classes, nationalities, abilities, genders, romantic partner choices, and other communities pushed to the margins by institutions and systems.
